The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked NTD (10-4) in Baku on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Neftci (6-8) 86-79. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of NTD. Neftci forced 21 NTD turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Georgian Davit Lomidze (196-1997) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Dennis Jones (185, college: PVAMU) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Neftci's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Londell King (203, college: Stillman) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Shirzad Shirzadov (188-2000) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for NTD. Four NTD players scored in double figures. Neftci have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 6-8 record. NTD at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with Serhedci. Neftci's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Baku to the arena Xirdalan.
