Fifth-ranked Araski (9-9) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Zaragoza (13-5) on Sunday. Zaragoza managed to secure only two-point victory 65-63. However their fans expected easier game. German Leonie Fiebich (193-2000) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points. Guard Mariona Ortiz (183-1992) contributed with 3 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-1996, college: Temple) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Dutch guard Natalie Van Den Adel (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Araski. Five Araski players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zaragoza moved-up to third place, which they share with Avenida. Araski lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Gernika. Zaragoza is looking forward to face league's second-placed Valencia at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Araski will play against the league's leader Girona (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
