Rather predictable result in Vitebsk where third ranked Rubon II (9-6) beat 5th ranked Grodno GrSU (6-9) 57-48 on Sunday. Rubon II forced 21 Grodno GrSU turnovers and outrebounded them 52-39 including 19 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rubon II made 7 blocks. Forward Nikita Borodin (183-2002) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Anton Makhanovskiy (-2005) chipped in 6 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Rubon II players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Gleb Sherstobitov (164-2006) with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Savely Ovchinnikov (-2006) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rubon II have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Rubon II maintains third position with 9-6 record having eleven points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Grodno GrSU lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with nine games lost. Rubon II will meet league's leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grodno GrSU will play against SDUSHOR (#4) in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
