Second Stage Round 3: Zagreb - Orlovi 73-47

The game in Zagreb supposed to be also quite interesting. Bosnian Orlovi (3-6) played at the court of Croatian Zagreb (2-7). Zagreb smashed Orlovi 73-47 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-47. Zagreb dominated on the defensive end, holding Orlovi to just 4 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. Zagreb dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Orlovi's 22. Zagreb forced 22 Orlovi turnovers and outrebounded them 46-30 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Marta Ostojic (185-2003, college: Ole Miss) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Lea Miletic (184-1995) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ivona Krakic (188-1999, college: Georgian Court) who recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian guard Marina Ristic (168-1987) added 10 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zagreb will meet Lavovi (#8) in the next round. Orlovi will play against Buducnost where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
