Regular Season Round 19: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Nanterre 97-80

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Nanterre (7-11) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (10-9) 97-80 on Wednesday. Pau-Lacq-Orthez outrebounded Nanterre 36-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Matthieu Vigneron (198-2002) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Pierre-Justin Theo (204-2004) helped adding 20 points. At the losing side Simeon Kalemba (200-2003) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Noa Calabre (186-2005) scored 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Pau-Lacq-Orthez and four Nanterre players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to eighth place. Loser Nanterre dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Monaco. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet at home Fos-Provence (#11) in the next round. Nanterre will play against Gravelines and hope to secure a win.
