Regular Season Round 12: Kutaisi - Batumi 71-75

The biggest surprise of round 12 in Superleague was guest Batumi's (5-6) road victory over Kutaisi (#8) 75-71 on Friday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But Kutaisi won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Batumi made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jordan Session (203-1996, college: Georgia St.) who scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Lasha Mikeladze (201-2001) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Mikeladze is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jarvis Ray (198-1990, college: TCU) who recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Chris Ware (203-1989, college: Indiana Tech) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Five Kutaisi players scored in double figures. Batumi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Delta. Defending champion Kutaisi keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Mega. Batumi is looking forward to face league's leader Cactus in Tbilisi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kutaisi will have a break next round.
