Important game to mention about took place in Kalmar. Tenth ranked Kalmar (4-19) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Sodertalje (9-13) 97-94 on Friday evening. Kalmar shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American Cameron DeLaney (193-1995, college: SHSU) notched 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-1989) supported him with 14 points and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 23 points, 12 assists and 4 steals by American point guard Josh Sharkey (175-1997, college: Samford) did not help to save the game for Sodertalje. His fellow American import forward Ed Polite Jr (196-1997, college: Radford, agency: BIG) added 22 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Five Kalmar and four Sodertalje players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Kalmar maintains tenth position with 4-19 record. Sodertalje lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Uppsala and Koping Stars. Kalmar will play against higher ranked Uppsala (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sodertalje will play against BC Lulea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
