Regular Season Round 15: HBA-Marsky - HNMKY 105-114

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Helsinki: HNMKY (#4) and HBA-Marsky (#7). HBA-Marsky was defeated at home 105-114 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But HBA-Marsky won third quarter 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HNMKY forced 20 HBA-Marsky turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by HBA-Marsky helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Thomas Ronnholm (197-2003) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Samuli Makela (178-1999) helped adding 22 points and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was center Olavi Suutela (201-2006) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Morris Ugusuk (189-2004) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky's coach Hanno Mottola rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. HNMKY maintains fourth place with 9-6 record, which they share with ToPo Juniorit and Kipina. HBA-Marsky at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. HNMKY is looking forward to face Oulun Bball (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. HBA-Marsky will play against the league's second-placed Jyvaskyla BA and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
