Important game to mention about took place in Kotka. Kotka saved a 3-point victory at home edging Kataja 86-83 on Friday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kataja won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Point guard Brandon Sly (180-1996, college: ASU) nailed 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Jordan Giles (198-1998, college: UMKC, agency: One Motive Sports) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Galin Smith (206-1998, college: Maryland) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Lamonte Turner (188-1997, college: Tennessee) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for Kataja in the defeat. Kataja's coach Petri Virtanen tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kotka will play against Vilpas in Salo in the next round. Kataja will have a break next round.
