Regular Season Round 13: CFBB - Calais 73-77

Rather expected game in Paris where bottom-ranked CFBB (0-13) was defeated by tenth ranked Calais (5-8) 77-73 on Friday. Calais made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 CFBB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Shakayla Thomas (180-1996, college: FSU) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Fleur Devillers (180-1995, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) chipped in 23 points (made all of her nine free throws !!!). At the losing side point guard Stella Colas (176-2006) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Ines Pitarch-Granel (182-2006) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Calais maintains tenth place with 5-8 record. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Calais will meet at home higher ranked Aulnoye (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play against Feytiat and hopes to get finally their first victory.
