Regular Season Round 17: Aix-Maurienne - Vichy Clermont 92-103

There was no surprise in Aix-les-Bains where 18th ranked Aix-Maurienne (4-13) was defeated by third ranked JA Vichy (12-5) 103-92 on Friday. JA Vichy forced 21 Aix-Maurienne turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists for the winners and Ivorian Cedric Bah (198-1994) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American point guard David Nichols (183-1996, college: FSU) responded with 31 points and Surinamese forward Gavin Kensmil (201-1998, college: SF Austin) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Aix-Maurienne players scored in double figures. JA Vichy moved-up to second place, which they share with Boulazac. Aix-Maurienne lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. JA Vichy will meet at home league's leader Chalon/Saor in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aix-Maurienne will play against ASA (#13) in Gries and hope to secure a win.
