Regular Season Round 18: Torun - Pruszkow 82-59
Date: January 27, 2023
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Pruszkow's (2-16) road loss to ninth ranked Katarzynki (6-11) 59-82 on Friday. Katarzynki forced 21 Pruszkow turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Alexis Jones (175-1994, college: Baylor) who scored 21 points. British forward Evelyn Adebayo (185-1996, college: UConn) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Marzena Marciniak (183-1991) who recorded 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Julia Berezowska (180-1996) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Katarzynki maintains ninth position with 6-11 record. Pruszkow lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. Katarzynki will meet bottom-ranked Bydgoszcz (#11) on the road in the next round. Pruszkow will play against Lublin and hope to secure a win.
