Regular Season Round 16: Scrivia - Trieste 76-53
Date: January 28, 2023
Very expected game when 9th ranked Trieste (6-10) was smashed on the road by third ranked Scrivia (14-2) 76-53 on Saturday. Scrivia dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Trieste's 28. They outrebounded Trieste 58-28 including a 42-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Scrivia looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Trieste's players. The winners were led by guard Francesca Leonardi (184-2002, agency: LBM Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and Croatian Nina Premasunac (187-1992, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Four Scrivia players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by power forward Costanza Miccoli (181-1995) did not help to save the game for Trieste. Croatian swingman Iva Bosnjak (182-2001) added 15 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Scrivia moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Trieste dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Scrivia will meet at home Ponzano (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Trieste will play against Treviso and hope to secure a win.
