There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Paterna (5-11) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Jovens (3-13) 69-60 on Saturday. Jovens made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Paterna turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian Alessio Zandri (190-2001) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Bernat Mondragon (178-1996) who added 14 points during the contest. Jovens' coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Daniel Masip (-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Daniel Oliver (-2003) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Newly promoted Jovens maintains fourteenth position with 3-13 record. Paterna lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Jovens will meet at home higher ranked Torrent (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Paterna will play against Puerto Sagunto (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
