Regular Season Round 16: Esportiu - Puerto Sagunto 80-76

There was a small surprise in Vila-real where fifth ranked Esportiu (11-5) beat one of their biggest challengers Puerto Sagunto (11-5) 80-76 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of center Alfonso Ribera (202-2001) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and center Miguel Moragas (203-1994) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Esportiu players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Carlos Sales (194-1998) responded with 17 points and Pablo Bono (185-1998) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Esportiu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Puerto Sagunto and Torrent. Esportiu will meet Tabernes (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Puerto Sagunto will play against Paterna (#11) and hope to secure a win.
