Everything went according to plan in Sopot where second ranked Trefl (13-5) beat 11th ranked Start (6-11) 74-69 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American guard Garrett Nevels (188-1992, college: Hawaii, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 17 points and 6 assists. Belgian Jean Salumu (193-1990) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Gabe DeVoe (191-1995, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Cleveland Melvin (203-1991, college: DePaul) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Trefl have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Slask, which they share with Stal. Start at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Arka. Trefl will meet Enea Astoria (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Start will play against Asseco Arka (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
