Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Aljaraque (9-4) won against at home 9th ranked Real Betis 2 (3-10) 83-79 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Aljaraque made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Real Betis 2 turnovers. Strangely Real Betis 2 outrebounded Aljaraque 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Pablo Martinez (185-1997) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 assists and Senegalese center Alioune Fall (205-1999) who added 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Carlos Varela responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Alvaro Gallego scored 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Aljaraque moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Real Betis 2 keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Estudio. Aljaraque will meet Corazon (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Real Betis 2 will play against Badajoz (#5) and hope to secure a win.
