Regular Season Round 20: Adareva - Ferrol 58-81

LF Challenge top team - Ferrol (17-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Adareva (7-12) in Tenerife 81-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Adareva. Ferrol made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Adareva turnovers. The winners were led by Haitian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-1993, college: Albany) who scored that evening 16 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Marta Gomez (184-1997, college: Wyoming) supported her with 20 points. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by Julie Dacosta (-1999) did not help to save the game for Adareva. Mali Maimouna Haidara (181-2004) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ferrol have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-3 record. Newly promoted Adareva keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Ferrol will meet at home Celta Zorka (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adareva will play against Azkoitia (#15) and hope to secure a win.
