The game in Athens was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Megaridas (8-6) played at the court of seventh ranked Papagou (9-6). Papagou managed to secure a 5-point victory 79-74 on Saturday. Papagou made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Tyler Peterson (193-1997, college: S.Dakota) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Thanasis Georgopapadakos (191-1986) accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Point guard Dimitris Geromichalos (185-1994) came up with 21 points and forward Minas Papagiannis (200-2002) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Megaridas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Papagou moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Koroivos and Psychikou. Megaridas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Papagou will meet at home Aias Evosmou (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Megaridas will play against Maroussi (#3) in Athens and hope to secure a win.
