There was no surprise in Reims where 7th ranked Champagne (6-7) was defeated by first ranked Charnay (11-2) 63-51 on Saturday. Charnay forced 26 Champagne turnovers. Mali center Diana Balayera (191-1996, agency: Areus Sports) stepped up and scored 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Johanna Muzet (183-1997, college: URI) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Charnay's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-1992, agency: LBM Management) responded with 9 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Jill Townsend (180, college: Gonzaga) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds.
