Fifth-ranked Tampereen Pyrinto made lots of trouble for Espoo Team on Saturday. The visitors from Espoo managed to secure only one-point victory 97-96. However their fans expected easier game. Tampereen Pyrinto trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 31-17 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 96-97 at the end of the game. Espoo Team made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. American guard Sierra Moore (180-1994, college: Penn St.) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Venla Maattanen (178-2001) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Reili Richardson (180-1998, college: Arizona St.) produced 29 points and New Zealand guard Tera Reed (183-1998, college: USC) added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Tampereen Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Espoo Team are looking forward to face Forssan Alku at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tampereen Pyrinto will play against Peli-Karhut in Kotka and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
