Everything went according to plan in Las Palmas where seventh ranked Gran Canaria (11-7) beat 9th ranked Obradoiro (9-9) 75-68. Argentinian Nicolas Brussino (205-1993) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and French power forward Damien Inglis (204-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 8 points and 5 assists. Even 10 points by the former international center Ruben Guerrero (213-1995, college: Samford) did not help to save the game for Obradoiro. British-Canadian guard Philip Scrubb (191-1992, college: Carleton, agency: Octagon Europe) added 7 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gran Canaria have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Joventut. Obradoiro at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Valencia and Rio Breogan. Gran Canaria will play against higher ranked Unicaja (#5) in Malaga in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Obradoiro will play at home against Bilbao and hopes to get back on the winning track.
