Regular Season Round 18: Unicaja - Valencia 102-86
Date: January 29, 2023
No shocking result in a game in Malaga where fifth ranked Unicaja (13-5) won against 8th ranked Valencia (9-9) 102-86. They outrebounded Valencia 40-18 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. International guard Dario Brizuela (188-1994) notched 20 points to lead the effort and American-Georgian forward Will Thomas (203-1986, college: GMU) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Even 16 points by American James Webb III (203-1993, college: Boise St.) did not help to save the game for Valencia. American-Montenegrin guard Jonah Radebaugh (190-1997, college: N.Colorado, agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points. Four Unicaja and five Valencia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Unicaja have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 13-5 record. Valencia at the other side keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Rio Breogan and Obradoiro. Unicaja will play against Gran Canaria (#6) in Las Palmas in the next round. Valencia will play on the road against the league's leader Barca in Barcelona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
