Regular Season Round 18: Stal - Twarde Pierniki 90-58

There was no surprise in Ostrow Wlkp. where 16th ranked Twarde Pierniki (4-13) was outplayed by third ranked Stal (13-5) 90-58 on Sunday. Stal dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Twarde Pierniki's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Twarde Pierniki's players. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (202-1992, college: Georgia) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Damian Kulig (205-1987, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Stal players scored in double figures. Stal's coach Andrzej Urban felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Joey Brunk (211-1997, college: Ohio St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and international Aaron Cel (203-1987) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Stal moved-up to second place, which they share with Trefl. Twarde Pierniki at the other side stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Stal will meet MKS DG (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Twarde Pierniki will play against Enea Zastal (#9) in Zielona Gora and hope to secure a win.
