There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Monopoli AN (5-12) beat at home 12th ranked Teramo (6-11) 72-62 on Sunday. Monopoli AN dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Teramo's 20. Nicola Bastone (195-1992) nailed 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Riccardo Ballabio (180-1998) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Giorgio Galipo (175-1999) came up with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Emidio Di Donato (198-1992) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Teramo in the defeat. Four Teramo players scored in double figures. Teramo's coach Andrea Gabrielli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Monopoli AN moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Bergamo. Loser Teramo keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Ragusa. Monopoli AN will meet Pozzuoli (#16) on the road in the next round. Teramo will play against Pescara Bsk A (#15) and hope to secure a win.
