Regular Season Round 16: Stoja Pula - Zagreb 79-77

The most important game in the last round took place in Pula between third ranked Zagreb (11-5) and tenth ranked Stoja Pula (4-12) on Sunday night. Zagreb was edged by Stoja Pula in a tough game on the road 77-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zagreb. 24 personal fouls committed by Zagreb helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian guard Aleksa Matic (193-1999, college: N.Alabama) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and center Marin Djugum (201-1996) who added 14 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Bruno Levanic-Kutin (203-1996) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and guard Kristijan Joksimovic (198-1995, college: Bethany, KS) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Stoja Pula maintains tenth position with 4-12 record. Zagreb at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with five games lost. Stoja Pula are looking forward to face higher ranked Omis-Cagalj T. (#6) in Galeb in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zagreb will play at home against Jazine and is hoping to win this game.
