Regular Season Round 16: Umbertide - Roseto 73-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Umbertide (8-8) lost at home to thirteenth ranked Roseto (4-11) 77-73 on Sunday. Roseto made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by naturalized Serbian guard Milica Micovic (182) who scored that evening 28 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and Spanish-Argentinian power forward Erica Sanchez (182-1976) supported her with 24 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her thirteen free throws !!!). Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by forward Francesca DAngelo (182-2001, agency: DC Sports) did not help to save the game for Umbertide. Guard Beatrice Stroscio (174-2001) added 15 points and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws) for lost side. Four Umbertide players scored in double figures. Roseto moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Umbertide dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Treviso. Roseto will meet at home higher ranked Savona (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Umbertide will play against RO SAzzurra and hope to secure a win.
