Regular Season Round 27: Koping Stars - Norrkoping 80-64

The game between third ranked Norrkoping (16-7) and seventh ranked Koping Stars (10-13) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Norrkoping was defeated by Koping Stars in Koping 80-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Norrkoping. Koping Stars forced 20 Norrkoping turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard KeShawn Curry (195-1998, college: VCU) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). His fellow American import power forward Quatarrius Wilson (203-1996, college: SEMO) chipped in 20 points. Four Koping Stars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Nicholas Spires (210-1994) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Hugo Bergstrom (183-2001) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koping Stars maintains seventh place with 10-13 record, which they share with Uppsala. Defending champion Norrkoping keeps the third position with seven games lost. Koping Stars is looking forward to face league's leader Boras on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Norrkoping will play against Umea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
