Regular Season Round 4: Orbi - Astrali 79-63

The biggest surprise took place in Tkibuli where host Orbi (3-1) beat league's leader Astrali (3-1) 79-63 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Astrali. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Orbi. Astrali managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Orbi won last quarter 22-7. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Astrali to just 5 points in first quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Demarcus Addie (188, college: S.Wesleyan) fired 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Kenny Cooper (183, college: Tennessee St.) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Brandon McQueen (185, college: TIU) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and power forward John Kerr (201-1999, college: NMU, agency: Dreamer Sports Agency) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Orbi have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Astrali. Astrali will play next round against strong Iverioni trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Orbi will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Gtuni in Tbilisi.
