There was an upset when higher ranked Alicante (12-7) lost on the road to sixteenth ranked Albacete (5-14) 72-65 on Tuesday. Albacete made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Finnish forward Remu Raitanen (206-1997, college: USF, agency: Blacktop Management) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (204-1995, college: NM State) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. American forward Sean McDonnell (203-1995, college: Westmont, agency: Helping Ballers) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Adrian Chapela (192-1994) added 8 points respectively for Alicante in the defeat. Alicante's coach Rafael Monclova rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Albacete moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Oviedo. Loser Alicante dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Lleida and Coruna. Albacete will meet league's second-placed Andorra on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alicante will play against Caceres and hope to secure a win.
