Regular Season Round 23: Slask 2 - Zgorzelec 67-75

An interesting game took place in Wroclaw, where higher ranked Slask (9-14) lost at home to sixteenth ranked Turow (6-17) 67-75 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for swingman Szymon Pawlak (192-1998) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-1986) helped adding 13 points. Turow's coach Pawel Turkiewicz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Maciej Bender (211-1997, college: Mercer) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Sebastian Bozenko (183-1998) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Four Slask players scored in double figures. Turow maintains sixteenth place with 6-17 record, which they share with Bytom. Slask lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with WKK Wroclaw and Krakow. Turow will meet at home higher ranked Kotwica (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slask will play against GKS (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
