Regular Season Round 16: Huima - HBA-Marsky 97-93

There was no surprise in Aanekoski where 8th ranked HBA-Marsky (7-9) was defeated by third ranked Huima (11-5) 97-93 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 34-21. But HBA-Marsky won third quarter 26-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huima looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Deontaye Buskey (185, college: Charleston So.) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Zach Naylor (203, college: Tarleton St.) who added 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Viljami Vartiainen (195-2004) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Topias Jokela (204-2004) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky's coach Hanno Mottola tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Huima have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-5 record having just two points less than leader Bisons. HBA-Marsky lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Huima will meet at home ToPo Juniorit (#4) in the next round. HBA-Marsky's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena HNMKY.
