No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Thor Thorl (5-10) crushed bottom-ranked KR (2-13) in Reykjavik 105-83 on Thursday. The game without a history. Thor Thorl led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Thor Thorl outrebounded KR 42-21 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-1998, college: NDSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. American-French forward Jordan Semple (201-1992, college: Chico St.) accounted for 21 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Thor Thorl's coach Larus Jonsson felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Veigar Hlynsson (196-2001) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Antonio Williams (183-1997, college: Kent St., agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for KR in the defeat. Four Thor Thorl and five KR players scored in double figures. Thor Thorl maintains tenth place with 5-10 record. Loser KR stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Thor Thorl will meet at home higher ranked Valur (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KR will play against Hottur (#9) in Egilsstadir and hope to secure a win.
