Eighth-ranked IA (5-13) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Skallagrimur (9-9) in Borganes. Skallagrimur managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected easier game. IA was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 23-14 third quarter run of Skallagrimur. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American Keith Jordan (198-1998, college: SHU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (195-1993) contributed with 7 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Irish-British guard Lucien Christofis (188-1996) replied with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and American power forward Jalen Dupree (205-1998, college: Tennessee St.) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for IA. Skallagrimur moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Selfoss. IA lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Skallagrimur will play against Armann (#8) in Reykjavik in the next round. IA will play at home against Sindri and hopes to get back on the winning track.
