A very close game took place in Crema between Crema and San Giovanni. Eleventh ranked Crema (6-13) got a very close home victory over higher ranked San Giovanni (12-7). Crema managed to escape with a 1-point win 78-77 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San Giovanni. Guinean forward Masseny Kaba (191-1998, college: UCF) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Raelin DAlie (159-1987, college: Wisconsin, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Croatian forward Ana-Marija Begic (191-1994) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Ilaria Panzera (178-2002) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crema moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Faenza and Moncalieri. Loser San Giovanni keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Crema will meet higher ranked Ragusa (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Giovanni will play against the league's second-placed Bologna having rather not much hope for a victory.
