Regular Season Round 18: L'Hospitalet - Sant Antoni 79-85

There was no surprise when 12th ranked L'Hospitalet (5-13) was defeated at home by third ranked Sant Antoni (13-5) 85-79 on Saturday. Guard Jordi Grimau (196-1983) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Daniel de la Rua (181-1997) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Sant Antoni's coach Carlos Flores used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Grant Lozoya (190-1995, college: Pitt St.) with 24 points and 5 rebounds and forward Gerard Sevillano (196-1994, agency: BIG) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sant Antoni maintains third position with 13-5 record having six points less than leader Menorca. L'Hospitalet lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Alginet and Talavera. Sant Antoni will meet at home Cartagena (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. L'Hospitalet will play against Mollet (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
