There was an upset when higher ranked Piacentina (10-8) was edged on the road by sixteenth ranked Empoli (3-15) 79-77 on Saturday. Empoli forced 19 Piacentina turnovers. Strangely Piacentina outrebounded Empoli 39-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Andrea Casella (195-1990) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Empoli moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Pescara Bsk A. Loser Piacentina dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with 9 other teams.
