Very expected game in Madrid where 9th ranked Guimar (6-9) was defeated by third ranked Estudiantes B (11-4) 77-60 on Saturday. Estudiantes B forced 20 Guimar turnovers. Strangely Guimar outrebounded Estudiantes B 45-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Alejandro Montero (185-2003) stepped up and scored 17 points and 4 assists for the winners and Jaime Perez (200) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Uruguayan Mauro Miranda (-1997) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Eduardo Perdomo scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Estudiantes B. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Guadalajara. Loser Guimar keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Estudiantes B's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Fuenlabrada 2.
