The game in Handlova was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Prievidza (7-15) played at the court of 8th ranked Handlova (5-17). Prievidza defeated Handlova 85-70 on Saturday. Prievidza forced 23 Handlova turnovers. American guard Jamari Wheeler (185-1997, college: Ohio St.) notched 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals to lead the effort and the other American import guard Kevin Anderson (196-1998, college: Delaware) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Prievidza players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by American swingman Elizjah Scott (198-1999, college: LMU) did not help to save the game for Handlova. Forward Peter Vojtek (196-1994) added 17 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prievidza maintains seventh position with 7-15 record. Handlova lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Prievidza will meet higher ranked Lucenec (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Handlova will play against Iskra Svit and hope to secure a win.
