Regular Season Round 19: Faenza - Schio 70-89

Serie A1 top team - Schio (18-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Faenza (6-13) 89-70. It was a great evening for American point guard Marina Mabrey (180, college: Notre Dame) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Swedish center Amanda Zahui (196-1993, college: Minnesota) helped adding 14 points. Four Schio players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nigerian forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (188-1997, college: Northwestern) responded with 7 points and 17 rebounds and Icelandic forward Sara Hinriksdottir (185-1996, college: Canisius) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-1 record. Faenza at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Crema and Moncalieri. Schio are looking forward to face Moncalieri (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Faenza will play against Sassari and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
