Not a big story in a game in Vitoria where 14th ranked Zaragoza (5-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Baskonia (15-4) 91-79 on Sunday. Baskonia made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Markus Howard (180-1999, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points (made all of his seven free throws). Lithuanian forward Tadas Sedekerskis (206-1998) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Baskonia players scored in double figures. Baskonia's coach Joan Penarroya used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Cuban guard Howard Sant-Roos (201-1991, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Icelandic center Tryggvi Hlinason (215-1997) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Baskonia moved-up to third place. Loser Zaragoza dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Baskonia will meet Unicaja (#5) in the next round. Zaragoza will play against Fuenlabrada (#17) in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
