Regular Season Round 13: Rustavi - Vera 129-70

Very expected game when 11th ranked Vera (2-10) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Rustavi (8-4) 129-70 on Sunday. The game without a history. Rustavi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Vera's 38. Rustavi forced 24 Vera turnovers and outrebounded them 48-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Vera's players. Swingman Levan Babilodze (198-1998) nailed 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Guga Patashuri (199-1998) accounted for 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Rustavi's coach Anatoli Boisa felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Kaiden Rice (201, college: Georgetown) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Luka Zakradze (193-1996) added 15 points respectively for Vera in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rustavi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Kavkasia. Vera lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Rustavi will meet Mega (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vera's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Kavkasia.
