The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Hamar's (9-9) road loss to fourth ranked KR (10-7) 92-100. Hamar was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 49-40 second half run of KR. They also forced 21 Hamar turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. KR players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Point guard Perla Johannsdottir (168-1993) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Morrow is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four KR players scored in double figures. American guard Jenna Mastellone (178-1999, college: SFU) replied with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and forward Emma Hakonardottir (180-2005) added 26 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Hamar. KR maintains fourth position with 10-7 record. Hamar at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. KR will play against Athena (#7) in Reykjavík in the next round. Hamar will play at home against Breidablik B and hopes to get back on the winning track.
