Regular Season Round 15: Pozega - KAZL Split 68-88

The game in Pozega supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked KAZL Split (11-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Pozega (5-10). KAZL Split did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 88-68 on Wednesday. It was a great shooting night for KAZL Split especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Shanice Johnson (183-1994, college: Cincinnati) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Gabriela Grizelj (172-2001) helped adding 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five KAZL Split players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Emilija Podrug (190-1979) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Lashonda Monk (168, college: Ole Miss) scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. Pozega's coach Vladimir Englman rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. KAZL Split maintains fifth place with 11-4 record. Pozega at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Sibenik and Pula. KAZL Split will meet at home league's leader Tresnjevka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pozega will play against FSV Rijeka (#11) and hope to secure a win.
