No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Nassjo (12-11) crushed at home 10th ranked Kalmar (4-21) 110-83 on Thursday. Nassjo forced 19 Kalmar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The winners were led by the former international point guard Charles Barton (193-1992, college: Oregon St.) who scored that evening 27 points and 5 assists and American forward Willie Atwood (201-1994, college: Arizona St.) supported him with 20 points and 7 assists. Nassjo's coach Joakim Kallman felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even a double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by center Tobias Sjoberg (205-1997, college: Marist) did not help to save the game for Kalmar. Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-1989) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for lost side. Four Nassjo and five Kalmar players scored in double figures. Nassjo maintains sixth position with 12-11 record. Newly promoted Kalmar keeps the tenth place with 21 games lost. Nassjo will meet Sodertalje (#9) on the road in the next round. Kalmar will play against Norrkoping and hope to secure a win.
