Regular Season Round 20: Skallagrimur - Sindri 95-94

The most exciting game of round 20 in the D1 took place in Borganes. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Sindri (12-7) to fourth ranked Skallagrimur (11-9) 95-94 on Friday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sindri won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sindri 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Skallagrimur looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Keith Jordan (198-1998, college: SHU) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian forward Milorad Sedlarevic (201-1993, college: UPEI) who added 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Danish guard Oscar Teglgaard (187-1998) responded with 34 points (!!!) and Spanish Ibu Jassey Demba (202-1998, college: UMC) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Skallagrimur have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-9 record. Sindri at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Skallagrimur are looking forward to face Fjolnir (#6) in Reykjavik in the next round. Sindri will play at home against Thor AK and is hoping to win this game.
