There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Majadahonda (7-8) edged higher ranked Getafe (8-7) in Madrid 70-67 on Saturday. Luis Guil notched 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Alejandro Herreros (189-1996) supported him with 16 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by Argentinian swingman Joaquin Sanchez (188-1998) did not help to save the game for Getafe. Forward Sergio Rodriguez (194-1984) added 14 points. Getafe's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Majadahonda moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Getafe dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Majadahonda will meet at home league's leader Real Madrid 2 in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
