Regular Season Round 22: Estepona - Alcobendas 66-70

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Estepona (9-13) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Alcobendas (14-8) 70-66. It was a very good performance for American guard Rachel Howard (178-1995, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Mali forward Aminata Sangare (186-2002) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Alcobendas' coach Julian Sanchez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-1993) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Tiffany Brown (168-1986, college: Georgia South) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Estepona. Alcobendas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Estepona at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Lima-Horta. Alcobendas will play against Adareva (#13) in Tenerife in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Estepona will play on the road against Picken Claret in Valencia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
