Regular Season Round 21: Gorzow - Zary 107-80

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Gorzow (7-13) rolled over at home higher ranked Zary (10-11) 107-80 on Saturday. Gorzow shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Gorzow forced 19 Zary turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Gorzow looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Zary's players. Forward Adam Chodkiewicz (198-1990) nailed 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Konrad Jelski (183-1996) accounted for 25 points and 10 assists. Gorzow's coach Andrzej Stefanowicz felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maciej Leszczynski (192-1999) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Wojciech Dyminski (197-2001) added 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Zary in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gorzow moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Olesnica. Loser Zary keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Zgierz. Gorzow will meet higher ranked SKM ZG (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zary will play against Sudety and hope to secure a win.
