Regular Season Round 5: Gtuni - Orbi 66-76

Another interesting game for Orbi (4-1) which played in Tbilisi against Gtuni (3-2). First ranked Orbi had an easy win 76-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gtuni. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 22-8 run, which allowed them to win the game. Orbi forced 23 Gtuni turnovers. American point guard Kenny Cooper (183, college: Tennessee St.) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Demarcus Addie (188, college: S.Wesleyan) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Orbi's coach Irakli Tomaradze allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Canadian guard Kamar McKnight (193-1996, college: Coppin St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Anthony Alston (183-1994, college: TAMIU) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Orbi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-1 record, which they share with Iverioni. Newly promoted Gtuni keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Astrali. Orbi will play against bottom-ranked ATSU (#6) in Tbilisi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gtuni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Astrali.
